This Unicable2 LNB enables installations with up to 32 satellite receivers (or unlimited when used in static frequency mapping mode) over a single coax cable based on digital channel stacking technology. Digital channel stacking technology uses fast wide­band analog to digital converters and applies digital signal processing to select desired transponder channels, upconvert them and stack them as L-band signals over the Unicable output port. The Unicable2 LNB offers a full flexibility of channel selection, supports many more set top boxes over existing cabling which greatly reduces costs and simplifies installations at subscribers homes.


The LNB firmware can be configured to provide a fixed transponder-to-IF frequency mapping and line up to 32 transponders (or more, depending on the bandwidth of the desired transponders) over the Unicable output. This allows for an unlimited number of receivers to be connected to the LNB making Satellite TV multi-room distribution and MDU installations substantially cheaper and simpler than ever before. Operation mode – dynamic or static – output power level, channel bandwidth, UB numbers, center frequencies and dish alignment mode can all be programmed as well.


The LNB can be powered over a connected STB or through an AC/DC adapter and power inserter in case the STB is unable to provide the necessary power. The communication protocol between the LNB and the connected Unicable receivers is based on EN50494 and/or EN50607 and can be defined per User Band enabling installations consisting of both EN50494-only and EN50607 compatible Next Generation PVRs and HGWs.
